Job Role: Fitness Instructor
A fitness instructor is responsible for leading and instructing group fitness classes, such as aerobics, yoga, and strength training. They also provide guidance and support to individuals who are working on their fitness goals.
- Plan and lead fitness classes, such as aerobics, yoga, and strength training
- Provide guidance and support to individuals who are working on their fitness goals
- Monitor the progress of participants and make adjustments to the workout plan as needed
- Provide feedback and encouragement to participants
- Maintain equipment and ensure that it is in good working condition
- Stay current with new trends in the fitness industry and incorporate them into classes
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certification from a reputable fitness organization, such as ACE, NASM, or AFAA
- CPR and first aid certification
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Physical fitness and ability to lead and participate in fitness classes
- Bachelor’s degree in exercise science or related field
- Multiple certifications from reputable fitness organizations
- Experience teaching group fitness classes
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, exercise physiology, and kinesiology
- Strong customer service and sales skills to promote fitness programs and services.
